How to fill it in

  1. Before the first deal, choose the game and agree the shtanga and the premium; write the four names at the top.
  2. When the bids are made, write each player’s number in the first box of the row. The row tells you how many cards to deal.
  3. After the hand, write the tricks each player took in the second box. Bid three and take exactly three and the sheet writes 200.
  4. When a chapter closes, the premium is settled by itself, and the sum of the chapter and the total update. Printed, the same boxes are filled in by pen.

What a hand pays

Pass kept — bid 0, took 0+50
Bid N and took exactly N50 + 50 × N
Bid every trick of the hand and took them all100 × N
Missed either way, took k tricks10 × k
Shtanga — bid at least one, took none−100 · −200 · −100 × cards
Gold hand, per trick+100
Misère, per trick taken−100
Misère flipped — all nine taken, per trick+100

The shtanga is the table’s choice when it is set up; −200 unless agreed otherwise.

Time to move: 30 seconds at tables with people, 15 against bots.

These numbers come straight from the game engine — the same ones the score sheet uses.

Questions about the sheet

How do I print the Joker score sheet?

Choose the game and press Print. The page leaves only the ruled sheet on one A4 page, or two for the 40-hand game. Whatever you have typed prints too, so clear it first for a blank sheet.

How is a hand counted?

A kept bid pays 50 plus 50 per trick bid, so three of three is 200. A kept pass pays 50. Bid every trick of the hand and take them all and each is worth 100. Miss either way and each trick you took is worth 10.

What is a shtanga on the sheet?

You bid at least one trick and took none. It costs what the table agreed before the first deal: −100, −200 or −100 per card in the hand. The sheet asks once and applies it to every row.

How does the chapter premium work?

A player who keeps every bid of a chapter has their best hand of it doubled. At tables that play it the other way, everyone else loses their best hand instead, though a chapter’s last hand is never struck out. Golden and misère chapters have no bids and no premium.

How many rows does the sheet have?

Classic has 24 hands in four chapters: one card up to eight, four nines, eight down to one, four nines. Short stops after the first nines at 12. Full adds four chapters of four nines each, 40 hands in all.

Why does the sheet mark some rows?

The dealer bids last and may not make the four bids add up to the tricks of the hand, so someone is always wrong. The sheet marks a row that breaks this, and one where the tricks taken do not add up to the cards dealt: usually a slip of the pen.
